2022 Fall Cross Country Registration

We are very fortunate to have Julie Dody return to lead the pack and taking us on the road for cross country.

Do you enjoy running, then cross country may be just the outlet you are looking for. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at OLPH from 5:15 to 6:45 pm and will start in, August. It's too early for the meet schedule, but they are normally held on Sundays at 2:15 pm and typically completed by 3:30-4:00 depending on how many runners we have. The season usually starts in September and wraps up by mid-October, the locations are different for each meet and held throughout the Lehigh Valley. The grade and distance breakdowns are as follows:

·      grades K-2   1/2 mile

·      grades 3-4   1 mile

·      grades 5-6   1.5 miles

·      grades 7-8   2 miles

2022 Fall Girls Volleyball Registration

Students of the school and/or parishioners of the church in grades 4 thru 8 can register. No experience is necessary. Please see about having registration completed prior to July 31st.

·      Grades 6th thru 8th  (Varsity) - This age group strives to be able to execute skills comparable to what will be expected at a competitive high school level. First year 7th and 8th grade players are welcome to participate so they can learn the sport and compete.

·      Grades 4th thru 6th (JV) - This age group is being introduced to the sport and strives to be able to apply the fundamental skills / techniques to match situations. The goal is to utilize three contacts as often as possible so the team is preparing for competitive volleyball.

·      Practices – usually 2 times a week beginning in August

·      Matches – Saturdays and Sundays beginning as early as Labor Day weekend (season ends late October/early November)

·   Coaches / Volunteers – The program can always use the help of coaches. We have many experienced coaches that can teach new coaches about volleyball. Coaches and volunteers need to have all background checks and clearances to participate.

·      Questions/Volunteers – Please contact Coach Zile at 610-392-6769 (call or text) or michaeljzile@gmail.com with any questions about the season and / or if you are able to volunteer as a coach for the season.

2022 Track & Field Registration

Registration is now open for the 2022 Track and Field Season at OLPH.  The official start to the season has not yet been announced.  Here is what we anticipate the season will look like.

Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season.

Practices will begin around the second week of March.

The meets are traditionally held on Saturdays at Notre Dame High School.

The meets should begin in April and finish up by the middle of May.

Grades Kindergarten through 8th grade are expected to compete.

We anticipate that all the events will be in play this year.  In addition to the sprints, distance, and relays, this season should include the throwing events (shot put, javelin, and discus) and the high jump.

If your athlete is new to the team, please say “yes” to the shirt.  We use the same running shirts for both Cross Country and Track.

As more information becomes available from the Diocese, additional announcements will follow.

If you have any questions, please contact Julie Dody at 610-393-3765 or dody6pa@yahoo.com.

2022 Track and Field at OLPH

Track and Field Registration

It is almost time for Track and Field at OLPH!  This year, due to COVID-19, there will be some changes to how our program is run.  The changes were made to help ensure that all CDC guidelines are followed to do our best to keep everyone safe while we enjoy the great outdoors!  Here are the details:

  1. The track team will be open to children in grades K-8.
  2. Only the 5-8 graders will be competing against teams from other schools.
  3. We will offer a free “Running Clinic” on the OLPH property for our K-4 athletes.  This will allow the kids to hone their skills for fast starts, good running form, and fast finishes.
  4. For the 5-8 graders, there will be no throwing events at the meets this year and there will be no high jump event.  The athletes will be competing in the following events this year.
    1. 100 meters
    2. 400 meters
    3. 800 meters
    4. 1600 meters
    5. 4 x 100 relay
    6. 4 x 200 relay
    7. Long Jump
  5. Practices should begin around the 2nd week of March.
    1. The K-4 kids will practice at OLPH on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6:15 pm.
    2. The 5-8 graders will practice at Notre Dame High School Track on Tuesdays from 5:15 – 6:45 pm and Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
    3. Please note that the dates/times for practice are tentative.
  6. The meets for the 5-8 graders have not been scheduled yet.  Based on past experience, the first meet is anticipated to be Saturday, April 10th.  We typically have 4 meets and then go into the Championship meets in May.  This year the Championship meets will not be held due to crowd restrictions regarding COVID-19.
  7. Spectators will not be allowed at the meets due to crowd restrictions.  However, we will still need volunteers to help run the meets.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to watch their children participate (hint, hint).
  8. As of now, all athletes and coaches will be required to wear masks at all times and have their temperature checked at the beginning of each practice.  Should the CDC guidelines change, we will as well.  The goal here is to run a compliant program which allows the children to get out in the fresh air.
  9. If you would like to participate in the 2021 track season, please use the Sports Engine site to register your athlete for either the 5-8 Track Division or K-4 Running Clinic.

Track and Field Registration

Spring Soccer Registration is CLOSED

Spring Soccer – Games will be played on Sundays, beginning in April and ending early June. The spring season is a time to get out and enjoy the weather, there are generally no practices and standings are not kept. Additional information will be provided by the coaches. If you have a soccer jersey from last year's spring or fall season (with or without numbers) you can wear that this spring. There is an option to order a new shirt during the registration process.

Over the past year there have been changes to the soccer brackets. Previously the brackets were based on age as determined by the school year. There has been a transition to Birth Year brackets. This spring season will have brackets for the following divisions U9 (birth years 2008-2009), U11 (2006-2007), U13 (2004-2005), U15 (2002-2003). To be eligible to participate this spring your athlete would need to have been born between 1/1/2002 through and including 12/31/2009. There have been several changes to the registration site to properly capture the birth year. If you experience challenges during the registration process, please let us know.
